In very mild forms of acne, little diagnosis is required. Most people who reach their teens will readily recognize the small blackheads or white pimples surrounded by a reddened area will constitute mild acne.

Benzoyl Peroxide
There are many over the counter acne creams containing benzoyl peroxide that may be used in mild to moderate acne care. Commonly found in the form of a gel or cream, this is applied two to three times daily to the affected area for best effect. The key is consistent use, as it can take up to six weeks before full effects are seen.

CLEARING BLACKHEADS
Yes, indeed, they most irritating spots are caused by them and are frustrating to remove. Blackheads are formed from blockage of the pores when sebum (oil) mixes with dirt and dead skin cells to clog the pores or
hair follicles of the skin to form a comedone. It then turns black upon exposure to air (oxidization). Blackeads occur mainly on oily skin around the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin), where the sebaceous glands produce more or excess oils.
They may also occur around the cheeks, chest and back. If you have severe cases of blackeads, consult your doctor or a dermatologist.

Everbody wants clean, clear and even complexioned skin. When you get pimples, that urge to flatten them out and squeeze is understandable. However, this may lead to short and long-term problems such as persistent redness, large brown stains (hyperpigmentation) and scarring (loss of skin substructure). Stains and scars are often confused by patients – stains are pale or brown flat marks whereas scars can be seen as indentations or pock marks in the skin. It’s now recognized that scars can also develop from small as well as large lumpy pimples.

What is Acne?
Acne, also known as “Acne Vulgaris” is a skin problem that affects teenagers and young adults especially women in their 20’s. It can appear on the skin as whiteheads, blackheads, pimples (zits), pustules, cysts(deep pimples or boils or congested pores (comedones) usually occuring where there are many oil glands around the face, chest and back.
